Why regular gym clothes aren't enough
A typical workout in the gym includes deep squats, rope climbs, burpees and heavy freestyles where the barbell is pulled along the thighs and lands on the chest. Traditional gym clothes are often made for static training and quickly wear out or restrict your mobility. CF and weightlifting workout clothes are engineered with four-way stretch, reinforced seams and sweat-wicking fibers to keep you dry and mobile no matter the exercise.
What distinguishes premium functional fitness clothing?
Mobility & Four-Way Stretch
Whether you're doing an overhead squat or a ring muscle-up, your clothing should never hold back your mobility. Our shorts and tights are equipped with strategic stretch panels that allow the material to move with your body in all directions, without feeling tight.
Abrasion resistance (Barbell-proof)
The friction from a knurling ring on a barbell is brutal on textiles. Functional training clothing is woven to withstand repetitive wear across the thighs and chest during heavy lifts and fast barbell cycling complexes.
Fit for Athletes
Athletes often have a different build than the average person – wider backs, bigger shoulders and bigger thighs. Our clothing has an "athletic fit" that is tight where it needs to be so it doesn't get in the way, but gives plenty of room for your muscles to work.
The Basics in the Gym Bag
Shorts & Tights
The most important piece of clothing. Must be "squat-proof" (not see-through) and have a waist that stays in place without sliding down during burpees and box jumps.
Compression & Base Layers
Compression clothing is great for keeping muscles warm, reducing microvibrations, and speeding up blood circulation for faster recovery after heavy WODs.
Frequently Asked Questions about our Workout Clothes
Are your tights and shorts "squat-proof"?
Yes! We know how frustrating it is to have material that becomes see-through when stretched. Our bottoms are designed with high-quality, tight materials that give you 100% coverage and security at the bottom of a deep squat.
How do I best wash workout clothes with prints and stretch?
To preserve the elasticity and any prints, we recommend that you wash the garments inside out at 30–40 degrees. Never use fabric softener, as it destroys the garments' ability to breathe and transport sweat away. Do not tumble dry, let them air dry.
What does "Athletic Fit" mean?
Athletic fit means that the clothing is tailored for a more muscular physique. T-shirts often fit slightly tighter across the chest and arms to avoid excess fabric, but are a little looser around the waist and longer in the model so that the shirt doesn't ride up when you hang from the rig.
